Ross:

I've had a passion for the arts ever since I was young, I like to have fun and get things done, and decorating the dolphin was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate my creative enthusiasm as well as cooperate with a someone else to create this piece, sharing ideas and organising the designs and composition of the dolphins design. I thoroughly enjoyed designing this piece and am proud to finally have it on display.

 

Amelie:

I am an art student with a passion for exploring new mediums and challenges. I normally like to paint and use mediums such as gouache and oil paint; however, painting the dolphin was a very good opportunity for me, as it allowed me to explore my creativity and collaborate on a larger piece.

 

Dolphin:

We were inspired to go with our design because we believe the St Peter Port seafront is a significant focal point of Guernsey's natural beauty and served as the perfect reference for our artistic vision. The colour palette we used was inspired by the CSC colours that were perfect for the sea, which we felt would be complemented by oranges, pinks and purples which better captured Guernsey's magnificent sunsets. We used a silver paint to accentuate highlights and other elements on the dolphin. In the end, we believe we achieved our goal of celebrating and capturing Guernsey's uniqueness and beauty.
